Funny is safe and clean. By definition, it's not designed to antagonize people, but just make them smile. Comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld and Ellen DeGeneres practice the art of humor. Now Funny is indeed a manner of expression but it is also an interpretation of life circumstances, too. Everything from poorly timed gastric emissions, to cultural differences to silver linings in storm clouds, can be Humourous. Comedy can be edgy, dark, extremely offensive at times, but will make people laugh until their ribs ache. Jay Leno went from one of the edgiest comedians to a humorist when he hosted The Tonight Show. Sam Kinison, maybe rest in peace is the epitome of a Stand-Up Comedian. Billy Burr is recognized as the top Stand -Up Comedian performing today. Now Comedy is planned, honed, and delivered to an audience of at least one other person for the sole objective of entertainment. Sometimes the objective is not achieved.
