Now I know that this question may sound crazy but I am wondering how can I stop being addicted to junk foods? I mean any foods that are good for me I don't want to eat and when I see junk foods I can't help myself. Can anyone on here recommend a healthy food that I can replace junk foods with?

Now to answer your question how can I stop being addicted to junk foods? The effects of certain foods on the brain make it hard for some people to avoid them. Food addiction operates similarly to other addictions, which explains why some people can’t control themselves around certain foods. No matter how hard they try. Binge eating disorder is now the most common eating disorder. It affects about 3 percent of the United States population. Women are twice as likely to have it as men. If you feel you are addicted to sweets and junk food, what should you do? Here are six steps to overcoming an addiction to sugar and junk food.
1. Recognize that you have a problem:
This is often easier said than done. When people are addicted to something, they have lots of good reasons to believe that what they are doing is fine. They make all sorts of excuses.
2. Make a plan—cut back or abstain? Overcoming an addiction is hard work. If you believe that some foods can be addictive for you, it’s probably best to avoid them altogether. We have learned with other addictive substances, like alcohol, that abstinence works best.
3. Remove temptation. We ask alcoholics to clear their homes of alcohol so that they can’t easily start drinking at their first craving. Sure, they can always go out and buy more. But for many people, putting some distance between the urge to do something and actually being able to do it can be helpful. In the 15 minutes that it takes to drive to the liquor store, the craving can go away. People can get a hold of themselves and drive back home.
4. Have a plan for cravings and triggers. : It’s important to think about what drives you to eat addictive foods.
5. Track results. Come up with a way to track your goals. It could be entering the data in your calendar. There are numerous apps out there to help. You can go with an old-fashioned pencil and paper. No matter what—be accountable and track your progress.
6. Get help:
If you just can’t seem to do any of this—if it seems too overwhelming or hopeless—please get help. In particular, if you have an eating disorder, such as binge eating disorder, bulimia, or anorexia, you may feel you are “addicted” to foods. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to overcome an eating disorder on your own. For some, they can be deadly. Professionals are available to help.
I believe cravings for junk food are natural. The sugar in junk food acts as a drug to numb you for a very short time. Some people eat junk food in a way that punishes themselves for feeling pain. Their pain is a false belief in some form of self-shame or guilt. Now if you would like to know if you have an eating disorder here are some 8 signs of having an eating disorder. This will also help answer your question how can I stop being addicted to junk foods? Now if you still need help to answer your question then you should seek advice from a professional.
1. frequent cravings for certain foods, despite feeling full and having just finished a nutritious meal.
2. Starting to eat craved food and often eating much more than intended.
3. Eating a craved food and sometimes eating to the point of feeling excessively stuffed.
4. often feeling guilty after eating particular foods — yet eating them again soon after.
5. Sometimes making excuses about why responding to a food craving is a good idea.
6. Repeatedly — but unsuccessfully — trying to quit eating certain foods, or setting rules for when eating them is allowed, such as at cheat meals or on certain days.
7. Often hiding the consumption of unhealthy foods from others.
8. Feeling unable to control the consumption of unhealthy foods — despite knowing that they cause physical harm or weight gain.
Most people with addiction attempt to quit several times before they succeed in the long run. While it’s possible to overcome addiction without help — even if it takes several tries — it can often be beneficial to seek help. Many health professionals and support groups can aid in overcoming your addiction. Overcoming an addiction is hard work. If you believe that some foods can be addictive for you, it’s probably best to avoid them altogether. We have learned with other addictive substances, like alcohol, that abstinence works best. Part of the cycle of addiction is the lack of control. Once you get started, you can’t stop. People end up eating or drinking more than they plan to. Acknowledging this lack of control is important. I hope that this has helped answer your question how can I stop being addicted to junk foods? Now if you still need help to answer your question then you should seek advice from a professional.
